It was already after work hours when I got a call from a guy who timidly asked if we can make him an 18th birthday cake covered in pink rolled fondant. Being a liberal New Yorker, I said, yes, of course! He was in hair design school so we decorated the cake with yellow chocolate blow dryer, hair rollers, etc. Making the cake elements out of chocolate and fondant cut outs was fun. The smile on Matthew’s face and his dad was well worth it. Joy!
